CORE is the legal employer of every apprentice we place. Hosting a CORE apprentice means taking on a placement, not an employee. That distinction matters. It means access to skilled trade talent without a multi-year employment contract, payroll administration, training paperwork or compliance overhead.
Apprentices are screened and selected through CORE’s trusted networks, with a focus on the right attitude and a genuine commitment to the trade. CORE coordinates with the Registered Training Organisation, manages the regulator-facing paperwork and provides on-site Field Officer support throughout the placement. When issues arise, CORE manages the response. Industry partners stay informed throughout, while the operational details stay with us.

Wages, superannuation, training contracts, workers’ compensation and compliance obligations all sit with CORE. The administrative load does not transfer to the host.

No. CORE is the legal employer. The host is the industry partner. The host provides the worksite and the supervision. CORE manages the employment contract, the training obligations and the regulatory compliance.
This is agreed between the host and CORE in the Host Employer Agreement. Hosts are not automatically committed to the full apprenticeship term. Arrangements can be structured around the project pipeline and business needs.
Provide a safe, supervised worksite with relevant trade work for the apprentice. Make sure the apprentice is supervised by qualified, experienced tradespeople. Release the apprentice for off-the-job training at the RTO when required. Communicate openly with the CORE Field Officer.
Speak with the CORE Field Officer. CORE assesses the situation, coordinates any formal steps required and manages the response. The host does not carry that responsibility alone.
CORE recruits through trusted networks and screens every applicant. Apprentices are matched based on the trade, the location and the type of work on the host site. Before placement, the host will have the chance to meet the candidate and confirm the fit on both sides.

If the project pipeline shifts, the host should speak with the CORE Field Officer. The host’s obligation runs through the placement, not the full apprenticeship. If the work ends, CORE manages the transition to a new host site. The apprentice’s training contract and qualification pathway stay intact with CORE.
